What moves the number
- Notice period. A 72-hour brief buys sea and consolidated freight; a 24-hour brief buys air freight at three to four times the landed cost.
- Import share. The more of the menu that is European dairy, charcuterie and patisserie, the higher the bill. Building menus around Gulf fish and UAE produce is the single biggest saving.
- Where you load. Dubai wholesale pricing beats every other port in the region; loading deep in Dubai and topping up elsewhere is normally the cheapest itinerary.
- Alcohol. Licensed import in the UAE and bonded stores in Bahrain are predictable. Improvised alcohol logistics in Qatar or Saudi waters are not.
- Event weeks. Grand Prix and boat-show weeks carry supplier premiums and restricted delivery slots.
Where the avoidable cost hides
In our experience three things cause most overspend in the Gulf: repeat small deliveries instead of one consolidated load, ordering imported versions of things that are excellent locally, and leaving the cellar to the last week of the season when allocations are gone. Consolidating a week's brief into one delivery typically saves five to ten percent on freight and handling alone.

Is Dubai cheaper than Monaco for provisioning?
For fresh fish, produce and staples, meaningfully cheaper. For European dairy, charcuterie and allocation wine, similar or slightly higher because those items fly in.
What currency do you invoice in?
EUR by default, with local AED, QAR, OMR or BHD sourcing handled by us. Other currencies on request.
