Three itineraries that work
| Itinerary | Route | Loading plan |
|---|---|---|
| UAE week | Dubai · Palm anchorages · Sir Bani Yas · Abu Dhabi | One deep load Dubai, fresh top-up Abu Dhabi mid-week |
| Upper Gulf | Dubai · Abu Dhabi · Doha · Bahrain | Deep load Dubai including cellar as bonded stores, fresh in Doha, stores replenished Bahrain |
| Oman & the ocean | Dubai · Khasab · Muscat · Indian Ocean | Dry and frozen crossing load Dubai, fresh Muscat on departure morning |
Rules of thumb
- Load deep where supply and pricing are best: Dubai for everything, Bahrain for stores.
- Top up fresh where it is genuinely better: Gulf fish in Muscat and Doha, hydroponic greens in the UAE.
- Do not plan cellar or specialty replenishment in Qatar or Saudi waters — carry it in.
- For Musandam and Khasab, treat it as a fresh-only stop and bring the pantry with you.
- For any ocean crossing, split the load: deep-store dry and frozen first, fresh on departure morning.
Provisioning an Indian Ocean crossing
From Muscat to the Maldives is roughly nine to eleven days at typical passage speed. We build the load against passage days plus a contingency margin, weight it toward long-keeping produce and vacuum-packed proteins, and log the cold chain on every leg so there is a record if a freezer alarms mid-passage. Fresh lands the morning you leave, not the night before.
Frequently asked
Can you provision Musandam and Khasab?
Yes, as a fresh top-up. It is a remote stop, so dry, frozen and cellar should be loaded in Dubai or Muscat.
How far ahead should a multi-country Gulf itinerary be briefed?
Two weeks. The clearance and alcohol planning between the UAE, Qatar and Oman is what needs the time, not the shopping.
Do you cover Saudi Red Sea and NEOM?
On request, with the yacht's agent involved from the brief. Loading pattern is the same: carry restricted items in from Bahrain or Dubai.
